Hold the Liberals to account for inaction on climate change!

Are you concerned about climate change impacts?... Do you think we need emergency action to cut emissions?... Do you think politicians should be held to account for failing to act?...

Join us on St Kilda beach on Saturday November 10 to send a message to political parties that have their head in the sand when it comes to climate change.

We want one hundred community climate champions to mock the Liberal party’s head-in-the-sand approach to climate change by doing just that: Putting our heads in the sand!

We’ll be seeking media coverage for the action and will capture some great images that can’t be ignored. The warnings of climate scientists are alarming. But the best way to counter the fear is collective action. Will you join us?

The Victorian state election is fast approaching, yet Matthew Guy and the Liberal opposition still, unbelievably, have no climate policy.

Meanwhile, the Federal Coalition has chosen to ignore the IPCC's warning we have just 12 years to act to avoid catastrophic climate change.

For two years, the Act on Climate collective have heard the stories of Victorians threatened by climate impacts. From coastal communities at risk of sea level rise to regional communities concerned about longer bushfire seasons. The message has been clear: Victorians want all levels of government to take strong action on climate change.

In October, our climate detectives caught Matthew Guy speaking at an event sponsored by ExxonMobil--a company The New York Times reports has undermined climate action for decades.

Matthew Guy's failure to stand up to the big polluters who are trashing our climate has made it clear to us that he has no concern for how climate change is already impacting Victorian communities, and how it will drastically alter our lives in the future if we do not take urgent action now.

The Liberals have had enough chances… It’s time for the community to hold them to account for having their heads in the sand!

I cannot attend in person. I live in the North East of Australia 20k’s out of Wodonga have metal knees and on a strict budget but hope to goodness climate change is recognised as an emergency of global importance.
The Liberal party must purge itself of malicious gnomes like Abbott and lascivious creatures like Barnaby, insulting ignoramuses like that woman who thought an elected representative of one of our Pacific Neighbours only came for money and anyone who thinks money coal and oil and gas rules. Dutton too is dreadful.
Appoint Climate Scientists and Climate Change supporters as Politicians and Advisors and have them held in high esteem.
Teach every child from PRE-SCHOOL up to YEAR 12 ETHICS as a compulsory subject, private and religious schools too not only State Schools. We need a team of wise experienced teachers to be really trained in this most essential and not to be sneezed at subject.
